Shredders
- Cut Type: Cut type helps determine the level of document security.
High Security-Evaluated by NSA and meets the requirements of NSA/CSS Specification 02-01 for high-security cross-cut paper shredders. Shredded pieces measure 1/25" by 1/5".
Confetti Cut-Provides high security by producing small confetti pieces that typically measure 5/32" wide by 1" to 2" long.
Strip Cut-One direction shredding action produces strip that are typically 1/4" wide.
- Sheet Capacity: Number of sheets that can be fed into a shredder in one pass. This value is calculated using 8 ½ x 11", 20 lb. paper.
- Speed (FPM): The average speed at which paper is fed through the shredder, measured in feet per minute.
- Continuous Run Time: The recommended time a shredder can be used (at capacity) before the Thermal Overload Protection is activated. The shredder will then enter a cooling-down period or off cycle (this is normal).
- Reverse: Feature that allows shredder to run in reverse to help clear a jam.
- Turbo Jam Release Button: This button boosts power to the motor to help clear jams by pushing the jammed paper through the cutters. This is a fast and easy way to clear a paper jam.
Records Storage
- Assembly: Bankers Box® features two types of assembly:
FastFoldTM-Our fastest assembly type. Press the box corners together and the box is finished instantly!
Basic-Standard assembly requires several easy steps.
- Stacking Height: The number of storage drawers that can be safely stacked on one another.
- Stacking Weight: The amount of evenly distributed weight that can be safely stacked on top of a box. This is measured in pounds.
- Closure: The way the top of a records storage box is secured. The primary types include:
String & Button-Our most secure lid closure for file transport and storage, this type involves winding a string around a button.
Locking Lift-Off Lid-Grip-lock tabs hold the lid more securely in place and offer a secure closure and easy access.
Lift-Off Lid-Basic lid is ideal for frequently accessed files. Some lids are deeper than others to stay in place better.
Flip Top Lid-Hinged design prevents accidental loss of lid.
Binding Machines
- Adjustable Margin Depth: The distance between the outside edge of the paper and the punched hole. Adjusting the margin depth ensures the pages of larger bound documents will not be damaged.
- Binding Capacity: Maximum number of sheets that can be bound on a machine using a binding element.
- Punching Capacity: The maximum number of sheets that can be punched at one time.
- Releasable Dies: Removing a punching die enables the punching mechanism to adapt to various punching standard and paper sizes. It also facilitates the centering and punching of non-standard sizes of paper.
Laminating Machines
- Heat Stabilization: A stable heat level allows consistent high quality lamination.
- Temperature Settings: The available options or settings for laminating different pouch thicknesses (e.g., 3 mil, 5 mil, 7 mil, 10 mil). Settings can also be adjusted to modify the heat level to better control the quality of the output.
- Mounting Board Capable: The ability to laminate mounting boards that are up to 1/8" thick to protect and display materials (e.g., signs, menus, presentation documents).
- Thickness: The thickness of a laminating pouch determines rigidity to the laminated document or photo. For example, a 3 mil pouch is the least rigid and a 10 mil pouch is extremely rigid. Also, the thicker the pouch is, the more durable it is.
